Doctors and pain management practitioners in particular, have found topical analgesic pain relievers to be an effective alternative to systemic pain relievers. Topical analgesic pain relievers provide directed pain relief. When topical analgesic pain relievers are utilized low levels of active ingredients are absorbed through the skin potentially lowering the risks of medication toxicity and drug interaction inherent with some systemic pain relievers. Topical counter-irritant pain relievers work on pain by creating a feeling or warmth or coolness over the sore or painful area.
Capsaicin is the active component in chili peppers. Capsaicin, an irritant to humans producing a heat sensation in tissue it contacts, relieves pain by depleting or interfering with Substance P, a chemical involved in the transmission of pain impulses to the brain. Research supports the use of capsaicin for osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Capsaicin has no known drug interactions. Toast Products is a pioneer in the use of capsaicin as a topical analgesic.
In addition to their active ingredients, Toast formulations incorporate herbal botanical extracts (chamomile extract, oil of rosemary, olibanum extract) for skin conditioning. Toast formulations do not contain dyes or artificial colors. Toast formulations are not tested on laboratory animals.
Screamin Hot Toast
Screamin Hot Toast uses a therapeutic level of capsaicin for topical pain relief.
Screamin Menthol Toast
Screamin Menthol Toast uses a hybrid approach to pain relief, combining a therapeutic level of the active ingredient menthol with a low level of capsaicin.
Toast Products are highly effective when used properly in accordance with label instructions. Toast Products perform for and affect everyone differently; some individuals may feel little to no warmth following a liberal application of Toast, while others may be more sensitive to the warmth.
Keep this in mind: Both moisture and friction accelerate the warming action of capsaicin. The more you perspire and/or the more friction in the treated area the warmer the area will become. Do not apply Toast immediately before or after a warm or hot shower. Do not apply Toast prior to wrapping, bandaging or placing supports or braces on treated areas.
Keep Toast away from broken or irritated skin and away from eyes and contact lenses.
In the event that you get over-Toasted don't despair; discomfort is temporary. Use olive oil or vegetable oil to remove excess Toast from affected areas. Place cool compress on affected areas. Cool affected areas with fan. Resolve yourself to the fact that discomfort is temporary.
